We will be accepting entries until January 31.
Don't let this date keep you from entering immediately. If someone becomes ill or dies before we receive your selection you will not be allowed that person on your list. No points will be awarded, no changes allowed.
Prizes
1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winners will receive a 'secret prize'.
How It Works
You predict who will die in 2009.
Make a list of 25 famous people. If a person from your list dies during the 2009 calendar year you will receive points for correctly predicting that person's demise.
The Definition of Famous
Your candidate must be well-known before he or she became sick or injured. The reason you have heard of your choice can not be because of his or her potentially life-threatening disease or situation. For example, Arthur Ashe would have been an acceptable candidate; Jeff Lucas, the horse trainer's son, would not. Additionally, death row inmates do not count -- no points will be awarded for death row executions.
How You Win
All points are based on 100 years of age. Subtract the deceased person's age from 100 to get your credit amount.
Rules
- You must be a registered user.
- You must select 25 people to make your entry valid.
- Once you have entered your choices, no changes are permitted.
- Viewing other goofballer's picks is not allowed until your picks are submitted, or once the 2009 deadpool is no longer accepting entrants.
- Spelling counts! Any deceased person that is spelled incorrectly will lose 5 points (-5) -- just like in Grade school. For example, if someone dies at the age of 60, spelled correctly you will get 40 points, spelled incorrectly will only get you 35 points. - You cannot kill anyone on your list. You will not receive credit.
- If you die you are the immediate Dead Pool winner, Congratulations!
